A Forreston man suffered serious injuries this morning after the car he was driving struck a utility pole in Ogle County.
The crash took place a short time before 12:30 in the 13,000 block of West Pit Road. 21-year old Benito Magana was traveling westbound when his 2000 Chevy Malibu left the road and struck a utility pole. The car overturned and came to rest on some farm machinery.
Magana was able to exit the car, but was later transported by helicopter to a Rockford hospital with serious injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by Ogle County Sheriff's Police.
