Ogle County board meeting

In a 20-4 vote last night, Ogle County officials approved a 50-year plan dealing with future facilities.

The proposal also dealt with the purchase of land in future years.

The county is currently building a new sheriff's administration building. It should be in operation by the 1st part of 2015.

The next big facility project may be a new jail for Ogle County. It may be several years before that building is completed.

Voting against the 50-year plan last night were board members Skip Kenney of Rochelle, Lee Myers from Byron, Pat Saunders of Polo, and Bill Welty from Chana.

Mitch Montgomery of Rochelle was appointed to the Board of Review last night along with Nina Moring to the Forreston Fire Protection District. Montgomery, who is a democrat, replaces Thomas Lewandowski of Oregon who moved to Florida.

Gerald Strohman also resigned from the Lynn-Scott-White Rock Fire Protection District.

County board committee assignments were finalized last night. The monthly meeting of the Ogle County Board will remain the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5:30 in the courthouse in Oregon.
