A Chana man received a sentence of 7 years in the Department of Corrections yesterday in connection with a sexual abuse incident in February of 2011.
30-year old Ralph McCormick pled guilty to the felony offense of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
The victim was a girl between the age of 13 and 17 when the incident took place.
McCormick had originally been charged with 2 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The 2nd count was dismissed by the state with the guilty plea yesterday.
McCormick was also sentenced to restitution in the amount of $741 along with fees and fines of $700 plus court costs.
