Hillcrest officials met for over 4 hours this week as a number of issues were talked about.
Changes will take place in their ordinance in reference to dangerous dogs in the village. If the animal is deemed dangerous by Ogle County officials, the owner must post a sign at their home to make residents aware of the dog.
A number of pets have been killed by other dogs in the past.
The board rejected a proposal to eliminate the 8-year sales tax abatement at 50 percent for Regional Ready Mix. The company moved to their new location at Illinois 251 North and Lind Road by the December 1st deadline. They had been located in the 400 block of River Road for over 8 years.
Voting for the tax abatement proposal were Trustees Richard Rhoads and Steve Dodson.
Village officials are still working on the final wording of the sanitary sewer ordinance. This includes permit and inspection fees.
Hillcrest has received a $450,000 C-DAP grant for the project and has also applied for a Illinois EPA loan.
Kevin Russell has been named the new maintenace man for the village. Voting against the hiring were Trustees Rhoads and Dodson.
The tax levy for the new fiscal year was also approved this week.
The board approved the water system operator contract dealing with Jerry Bever. No action was taken following an executive session.
