The scaffolding and protective wrap has been completed around the Black Hawk statue at Lowden State Park near Oregon for the winter weather ahead.
The work was done to protect the 103 year old statue as restoration work is scheduled to begin in 2015.
Lorado Taft created the statue along Route 2 in Ogle County. Area residents can still donate money for the restoration project. They can send the funds to the Illinois Conservation Foundation.
