Former Davis Junction man sentenced to prison

A former Davis Junction man has received a sentence of 12 years in the Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to the felony offense of burglary.

57-year old Terry Maxwell of Rockford was arrested after an incident that took place on Christmas Eve of last year near Davis Junction.

The break-in occurred in the 15,000 block of east Route 72. Maxwell was found inside the home and allegedly threatened the victim with a metal bar.

He was originally charged with residential burglary and armed violence.

Maxwell was involved in a high speed chase that ended up in Rockford following the burglary. He was eventually arrested earlier this year by police.

Maxwell was released from prison in September of 2013 and was on parole for the felony offense of residential burglary when the break-in took place last December.
