The grand jury decision in Ferguson, Missouri has had a ripple effect for police agencies around the country.
Anger exploded when it was revealed that no charges will be filed against police officer Darren Wilson in connection with the shooting death of 18-year old Michael Brown. The teen was unarmed when the incident took place.
Wilson is white while Brown is black.
During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", Rochelle Police Chief Eric Higby said that his officers have talked about the shooting. He said they remain at high alert during traffic stops and other arrests.
Higby said that many times, the officer may be the only person on the particular call which may have several suspects.
He did say that the officer is trained when it comes to a situation like Missouri.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday morning at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
