It's day 2 of the jury trial for a Stillman Valley man as the state wants to declare him a sexual dangerous person for a 2nd time.
65-year old Ray Gough remains in the Ogle County jail in Oregon.
He was 1st convicted of the felony offense of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in 1992. The state filed 2 more cases of the same offense in 1999. The victims were 2 different individuals.
Those cases are still pending.
Gough was 1st declared a sexual dangerous person in 2000. That decision was reversed by the 2nd Appellate Court in March of 2004.
In court yesterday, the 12 jurors were selected, 6 men and 6 women, along with 2 alternates. Opening statements were also heard.
The state will have 4 witnesses testify. It's unknown at this time if Gough will testify during the jury trial.
The jury may begin deliberations some time on Wednesday. The case is being heard in front of Circuit Judge Robert Hanson.
