Area police agencies were kept busy yesterday evening responding to vehicle crashes due to the slick roadways from the ice and snow.
There were numerous reports of cars in ditches along I-88 and I-39 along with other highways and roadways in the area. There were no reports of any life threatening injuries from the accidents.
1 woman was transported by local ambulance to a Rockford hospital for treatment of her injuries following a 2-vehicle accident on I-88 near I-39.
Rochelle police did ticket 1 local driver for driving too fast for conditions following a 2-vehicle collision on 8th street near Jones Road.
This was the 1st time since last winter roads became slippery due to the snow and ice from the weather.
