Creston Board Meeting

Officials in Creston are working on the final wording in dealing with changes in their water ordinance.

With the new meters installed at homes, duplexes, along with apartment buildings, changes needed to be made before the residents are billed.

Board President Tom Byro said they hope to have the changes in the ordinance ready by the end of the year.

Creston officials have looked at Rochelle's water ordinance involving some of their features.

The board introduced the tax levy last night for fiscal year 2015 as it totals $15,079. Last year's figure was at $14,375.

The EAV also increased for the village during the past year by $103,634.

Storm sewer work is scheduled to begin on North Street next week. Creston School Superintendent Bill Robertson also introduced himself to the board last night.

The village plans to update their website in the near future on the different features Creston has which may attract more residents to the community.
