Dixon man hurt in car vs grain truck crash in Ogle County

A Dixon man suffered serious injuries yesterday afternoon after the car he was driving collided with a grain truck. The accident took place a short time after 12 noon at the intersection of Route 26 and Route 64 in rural Polo.

Reports indicate that 68-year old Stanley Rodabaugh of Dixon was traveling southbound in his car on Route 26 when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a Polo Cooperative Association grain truck driven by 77-year old Mervin Ludewig of Polo who was traveling northbound.

Rodabaugh was extricated from the vehicle by Polo Fire Department personnel and then transported by React helicopter to Rockford Memorial Hospital with multiple injuries.

Ludewig was not hurt in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation by Ogle County Sheriff's Police.
