People with last names in the first half of the alphabet that want to apply as a patient in Illinois’ medical cannabis pilot program will still be able to do so beyond the initial deadline. That’s according to the latest release from the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The announcement also says that patients with last name M through Z will be able to begin applying for the pilot program November 1st. As for dispensary and cultivation centers, the selection process will initiate a second application period for districts where no qualified applications were submitted.
It’s still unclear when medical cannabis will be available for approved patients from approved cultivation centers and dispensaries, but observers say it could be spring of 2015.
