After meeting with cabinet members and local hospital officials on Friday, Mayor Rahm Emanuel assured the public that the city has a plan to cope with any Ebola cases that turn up in Chicago. Emanuel says the city is being guided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in providing consistent training for hospital workers and first responders and in ensuring that communication channels are clear on this issue. City health director Dr. Bechara Choucair is leading a task force that has been meeting for more than a month on Ebola preparedness.
