Two of the three gubernatorial candidates appearing on Illinois’ general election ballot this November will debate Thursday in Peoria in front of the League of Women Voters. Incumbent Governor Pat Quinn and Republican Bruce Rauner will meet for the hour-long debate sponsored by Forbes Financial Group with questions from public radio, television and magazine reporters. The Libertarian candidate for Governor, Chad Grimm, says he was not invited to the debate because recent polls don’t have him at ten percent, even though he and other statewide Libertarian candidates are officially on the ballot. Grimm tells Illinois News Network he feels the League of Women Voters are playing two party shenanigans to keep voters in the dark of all three options on the ballot.
