City officials in Rochelle expect to know this month if a "fresh" food distribution company would be coming to the Hub City.
The facility would be located north of Route 38 West. The company is based in Chicago and would have around 60 employees at their 2 facilities.
The Lee County enterprize zone has be extended by around 45 acres for the project. The city has also applied for a C-DAP grant that totals $110,000. The money will be used to extend the fiber optic and communication service on the west side of Rochelle.
The company needed both of these issues completed before they would come to Rochelle.
An engineering firm has apparently been hired for the project.
