A Lindenwood woman suffered fatal injuries following an alcohol related single vehicle crash in rural Byron late Saturday night.
39-year old Jody Young was pronounced dead at Rockford Memorial Hospital early Sunday morning after being transported by ambulance from the scene. She was a passenger in the sports utility vehicle.
Reports indicate that 32-year old Scott Young of Lindenwood was traveling east bound on Severson Road near Weldon Road in Ogle County when the car left the pavement a short time before midnight.
The SUV entered the ditch and then struck a tree.
Scott Young was transported by ambulance to a Rockford Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
2 other passengers in the vehicle, 30-year old Chad Reiniche and 27-year old Megan Reiniche, both from Rockford, were also injured in the accident and were treated for their injuries at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford.
Illinois State Police arrested Scott Young on the charge of DUI and improper lane usage. The accident remains under investigation.
