Village officials in Hillcrest approved their new fiscal year budget last night.
It totals $597,231 which is an increase of around $20,000 from a year ago.
Changes in the truck route and weight limits for semi-trucks was tabled until the October board meeting.
The truck route would include Scott and Maple Avenues, River Road, and Maple Court. Wayne Road would be eliminated from the route.
The village is also looking at increasing the weight limits for the roads from 8 to 40 tons.
An annexation hearing will be held during the monthly board meeting on October 8th dealing with the new location for Regional Ready Mix.
The cement company plans to move by December 1st near the intersection of Illinois 251 North and Lind Road.
They have been located in the 400 block of River Road for over 8 years.
The public hearing is for the village, Regional Ready Mix, and the land owner dealing with the annexation agreement.
Part of the proposal involves an 8-year sales tax abatement at 50% for the company.
Hillcrest officials also plan to have a food and toy drive during the Christmas holiday season for needy families in the area. They took part in this project several years ago.
