Creston Board meeting

Village officials in Creston are looking at a cost between 30 to 35,000 dollars to repair storm drainage in the downtown area.

Village Engineer Kevin Bunge talked about the tile problem last night on North Street, just west of Main Street.

Board President TomByro said that the tile may be over 100 years old.

The village plans to not go out for bids for the project so that the work can be done this fall. The tile repairs will be around 400 feet.

Water is currently getting into the basement of Headon Fine Meats.

The mowing of grass has been settled in the new subdivision park. The Dement Park District will take care of the project.

Byro announced last night that he plans to give $3,000 each to 6 organizations from the tipping fees the village receives from the landfill. The list includes the Creston Grade School, the Creston-Dement Public Library, the Dement Park District, The Ogle-Lee Fire Protection District for their station in Creston, Dement Township, and the Creston Booster Club.

Area residents are reminded that Creston Booster Days will be held on September 13th and 14th.
