Rochelle Elementary School Superintendent Todd Prusator
The Rochelle Elementary Board approved a bid yesterday for additional security at all 5 buildings in the district.
The cost will be $24,565 involving security film at the entrance doors. The project will be paid for through a state grant that totals $43,000.
Superintendent Todd Prusator said that the work on the doors in all 5 buildings should be completed by the end of the month.
He said that they plan to use the remaining money in the grant for additional security measures in the district dealing with a notification system.
Under the program, schools would be able to use a cell phone to contact local and area police agencies in case they have an emergency.
