Approximately 3,100 new freshmen and transfers will be moving in to Northern Illinois University residence halls beginning today in DeKalb. Around 105 university faculty, staff and administrators, including NIU President Doug Baker, will join local leaders in assisting in the move-in process. Approximately 1,250 returning students have volunteered to assist their peers in moving in. About 900 returning students will be moving into their residence halls over the course of the weekend. A total of 4,239 are expected to live in NIU residence halls this year.
