A new law signed means that all high school coaches in Illinois must pass an online course about concussions before they can take the field with their teams. The Illinois High School Association created the course and the quiz that goes with it to familiarize coaches about the signs and symptoms of concussions, including when an athlete should be held out of games or practice. Coaches for fall sports have already gone through the course and quiz in anticipation of the bill signed by Governor Pat Quinn.
