The Rochelle Township High School board approved their 1st drug testing program last night dealing with students in extra-curricular activities. This includes student athletes.
Superintendent Jamie Craven said that the district's goal is to help students who may have a drug problem.
Penalties include 1/4 of a season for an athlete involving a 1st offense. A 2nd offense deals with half their season.
The board table a decision dealing with a resolution in filing an intent to intervene in the property tax assessment appeals proceeding from the Americold Properties. A decision by school officials will be made in September.
A budget workshop is scheduled for September 8th at 5pm. The district is looking at a deficit of $126,800. Revenue is projected to be at 14.3 million dollars while expenditures at $14.4 million dollars.
Craven said that state aid has dropped from 3 million dollars in 2008 to 1.1 million dollars for 2015.
Resignations last night included Dick Devore as Head of Transportation on June 30th, 2015.
