The parent company of Jewel-Osco now says that the credit card data of some of its customers in Illinois and Indiana may have been compromised when hackers breached their computer system. The computers of Jewel's former parent company, SuperValu, were apparently hacked sometime between mid-June and mid-July, but the customers affected are those from stores SuperValu sold to Cerebus Capital Management, including Jewel-Osco. So far, there's no evidence that any customer data has been misused.
