A Rochelle man pled not guilty in Ogle County court yesterday after he allegedly stole a mini-van on July 4th and drove the wrong way on I-39.
35-year old Luis Pizano has been charged with the felony offense of aggravated DUI and theft over $500.
Authorities say that his blood alcohol level was more than 3 times the legal limit to drive.
Pizano allegedly stole the mini-van which was parked along 7th Avenue near Caron Road. He was apparently involved in 1 accident before traveling south bound on I-39 in the north bound lane.
No one suffered any injuries from the incident.
In court yesterday, Pizano waived his preliminary hearing and demanded a jury trial. He returns to court on August 11th for a pre-trial conference.
Pizano remains in jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
