The Ogle County Board met last night at the courthouse in Oregon. And after an hour long discussion on group health insurance the Board voted. The vote for the insurance group that was suggested by the finance committee ended in an 11-11 tie, and that means it was defeated. So a motion was made to go with Query Insurance of Rochelle, and that motion passed on a 13-9 vote.
The Board also passed a video gaming ordinance on a roll call vote of 17-5. That means that video gaming in county establishments not in a municipality will now be allowed.
A special use permit to allow an Agribusiness to Gene and Vicki Miller in Byron Township on Route 72 passed. And an Amendment to the zoning district to rezone from Agricultural to Residential to Joan Hanlin on Town Line Road in Byron passed.
Also at last nights meeting, James Reed was appointed to the zoning board of appeals. And, Chairman Gouker said he will get a tow fund audit update of the Sheriff’s Department and have information at the next meeting. The next meeting of the Ogle County Board will be August 19th.
