Hillcrest Board Meeting (Updated)

A cement company in Hillcrest has agreed to move to their new location by September 1st of this year.

Regional Ready Mix has accepted the changes of the amended annexation agreement approved by the village board during a special meeting last month. A sales tax abatement is tied into their move. It's an 8-year agreement at 50%.

The tax abatement proposal ends if the move is not done by September 1st.

Regional Ready Mix is currently located in the 400 block of River Road. Their new location will be near the intersection of Illinois 251 North and Lind Road.

A representative from Julep Arbor Farms is the only person that still needs to sign off on the annexation agreement. That is expected to be done some time this month.

Residents who live near Regional Ready Mix have complained in the past about the dust and noise from the cement business. Village officials plan to enforce any ordinances that may be violated in the area.

The new zoning map for Hillcrest was approved last night. The categories have gone from 13 to 7.

There is also a change in the animal ordinance. A Hillcrest home owner can now have only 4 animals. This includes cats and dogs.

Hillcrest officials will have a special meeting on July 30th to talk about the new fiscal year budget. They also have $35,000 remaining in motor fuel tax money that can be used for street repairs in the village this summer.
