The latest crop report from the USDA shows that Illinois crops are in good shape. Crop statistician Mark Scheulesener says corn is doing especially well with 80 percent in good to excellent condition. As for soybeans, 75 percent are in good to excellent condition. Farmers continue to make progress on the winter wheat harvest. Scheulesener says 82 percent of the crop has been harvested. That's ahead of the five-year average of 79 percent and well ahead of where the harvest was a year ago when it was 65 percent complete.
