A Chana man received a sentence of 3 years in the Department of Corrections Monday after he pled guilty to the felony offense of aggravated DUI. The case involves a car vs school bus crash in rural Rochelle last September.
67-year old Neel Hanke was arrested following the accident. He pled guilty to the felony last May.
Illinois State Police report that on September 19th, the sports utility vehicle Hanke was driving failed to stop at the intersection of Hemstock and Center Roads in rural Rochelle. The SUV crashed into a Rochelle school bus.
2 teens received treatment for minor injuries at Rochelle Community Hospital following the accident.
Neither driver was hurt.
Hanke does have 2 prior DUI convictions on his record. He must report to begin his prison sentence on July 27th.
