Area residents are cleaning up today following 2 severe storms that traveled through Northern Illinois yesterday afternoon and last night.
The most severe of the 2 line of storms came through the area last night with high winds and heavy rains.
There were numerous reports of power lines and tree limbs down on the ground along with standing water on roadways.
Electrical power outages were reported throughout Ogle, Lee, and DeKalb Counties. Workers from RMU were out until the early morning hours trying to restore service for their customers.
Power was lost for 420 businesses and homes. This included 2nd Avenue, Lincoln Highway, Main and North 3rd Streets and some rural areas.
There no reports of any serious injuries from the storms.
