Ogle County Sheriff's Police are alerting area residents of severals scams recently.
People have reported being contacted by utility companies claiming that their service will be terminated if payment is not received in a short period of time.
Police say that this is not typically the case for uitility companies in the treatment of their customers.
If you have received any mail, phone calls, or emails about this scam, you should contact the entity, such as Commonwealth Edison or your bank, about the incident.
