The 1st installment for Ogle County property tax bills is due today. Over 29,000 bills were mailed in May from the Treasurer's office.
Ogle County Treasurer John Coffman said that they expect to collect 119 million, 300 thousand dollars this year. That's an increase of more than $900,000 from a year ago.
The increase includes a 10 percent hike for farm land in Ogle County.
Property tax bills can be paid at any financial institution in the area along with the Ogle County Treasurer's office in Oregon. The installment can also be mailed.
Property owners can also use the Illinois State Treasurer's E-Pay program.
The deadline for the 2nd installment is September 5th.
