Probable cause was found in the case yesterday involving a Rochelle man in connection with a shooting that took place in the Hub City last month.
23-year old MIchael Maise Jr. has been charged with the felony offense of aggravated battery of a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
The shooting occurred the night of April 25th in front of 322 South Main Street. An argument took place with individuals who are involved in gangs during a party.
3 to 4 shots were heard in the area. A 17-year old boy was shot in the leg. He received treatment and then released from a Rockford Hospital.
In court yesterday, Maise pled not guilty to the charges and demanded a jury trial. He returns to court on June 9th for a pre-trial conference.
Maise remains in jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
