A Rochelle man was back in Ogle County court Friday for a status hearing in connection with a shooting last week in the Hub City.
23-year old Michael Maise Jr. has been charged with the felony offense of aggravated battery of a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
The shooting took place the night of April 25th in front of 322 South Main Street. An argument occurred with individuals who are involved in gangs during a party.
3 to 4 shots were heard in the area. A 17-year old boy was shot in the leg. He received treatment and then released from a Rockford Hospital.
Maise returns to court on May 21st for a preliminary hearing. At that time, he is expected to plead guilty or innocent to the charges.
Maise remains in jail in lieu of bond. He was convicted of the felony offense of burglary in November of 2011.
