A Rochelle man remains in jail following a shooting that took place Friday night in the Hub City which left a 17-year old boy with an injured leg.
23-year old Michael Maise Jr. was arrested Saturday afternoon on the felony offense of aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
The incident began at a party in the apartment building at 322 South Main Street in Rochelle. An argument took place with individuals who are involved in gangs.
3 to 4 shots were heard outside the apartment building. The teen was shot outside.
He was treated for the leg injury at a Rockford hospital and then released.
2 cars were seen leaving the area following the shooting. A vehicle was towed by police on Saturday which may have been involved in the case.
Maise remains in jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond. He appears before an Ogle County judge later today in Oregon.
Maise was convicted of the felony offense of burglary in November of 2011.
