Rockford man back in court following Daivs Junction residential burglary

A Rockford man pled not guilty yesterday in Ogle County court following a residential burglary and armed violence incident that took place near Davis Junction on Christmas Eve of last year.

Following a manhunt with area police agencies that included a high speed chase, 56-year old Terry Maxwell was arrested on the felony offense of residential burglary and armed violence.

The confrontation took place in the 15,000 block of East Route 72. During the break-in, Maxwell allegedly threatened the victim with a metal bar.

In court yesterday, Maxwell waived his preliminary hearing and demanded a jury trial. Bond remains at $500,000.

Maxwell is currently in the Department of Correstons. He was on parole for the felony offense of residential buglary involving a DuPage County case when the incident took place near Davis Junction.
