No foul play in the death of a Rochelle man

Ogle County officials say that the cause of death was probable drowning for a Rochelle man whose body was found in Kyte Creek near Hillcrest on March 10th.

32-year old Phillip Rainwater was found faced down in about 4 feet of water just south of the bridge near the intersection of Scott Avenue and River Road. He had been in the water for a period of time.

Authorities had spoken to the Rainwater family during the investigation. They believed that he had moved to Southern Illinois around January 1st of this year.

Ogle County Coroner Lou Finch said that the manor that Rainwater died remains undetermined. It is still unknown where he fell into the creek.

Ogle County Sheriff Michael Harn said that Rainwater had requently walked the bike path which is located near the creek when he was in Rochelle. He said that there is no foul play from the incident.
