In area news, DeKalb County sheriff's police have arrested a Rockford man in connection with an alleged sexual abuse incident that took place in Cortland.
26-year old Matthew Simpson has been charged with the felony offense of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and criminal sexual assault.
The victim is a 16 year old. The alleged incident took place on March 27th.
The Illinois Department of Corrections has also placed a hold on Simpson for a parole violation. He remains in the DeKalb County jail in Sycamore.
