Several members of the Ogle County board are concerned about the location of the new sheriff's administration building. The current proposal for the 1-story facility was next to the sheriff's building in Oregon at a cost of more than 4 million dollars.
Several county officials believe that the building should be constructed just west of the Judicial Center in Oregon. The county board will meet in special session next Tuesday to talk about the issue. Board member Ron Colson of Mt. Morris wants the building next to the Judicial Center in Oregon.
County Board Chairman Kim Gouker said that the special meeting will cost the county $1,200 next week.
Bridge work was approved last night on Freeport and Maple Grove Roads at a total cost of $115,000.
A cremation service program will also be established in the near future for funeral homes in Ogle County.
