First the cold temperatures and snow...Now flooding.....
The winter has been tough on area residents in Northern Illinois as there are numerous reports of standing water on roadways today.
The area was hit with some freezing rain early this morning. This has now become slush on the roads due to the rain and warmer temperatures.
Rain is in the forecast throughout day which will cause flooding in low areas.
Officials at Kishwaukee Community College in Malta have announced that the campus will not be open until 10 this morning due to flooding problems.
There is also a high wind warning in effect from 5 this evening to 11 tonight. Gust could reach up to 60 miles per hour in the area.
