City officials in Rochelle expect to make a decision within the next couple of months on the amount of money being spent as part of the renovation project involving the Hub Theater.
The purchase price for the building on Lincoln Highway is $100,000. Renovation costs could range between 1 to 1.5 million dollars.
The Hub Theater was built in 1931. It has been closed since early 2011.
During this week's program "Let The People Know", Mayor Chet Olson talked the project. He said the owner of the theater in St. Charles came to Rochelle recently to look over the facility
Any money from the city for the project will most likely come from the landfill fund.
An informational meeting on the Hub Theater project will be held on Tuesday evening at 6 at the City Hall Building.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoons at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday mornings at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday mornings at 6 on "The Coyote". Next week's guest will be RTHS Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Kevin Crandall.
