Illinois farmers may have 2nd thoughts on planting corn this Spring

Illinois farmers may be having second thoughts about how much corn they plant this year. Falling corn prices and questions about the demand for ethanol may have them taking a closer look at soybeans. After several years of increasing corn production that culminated in last year's record crop, there's now a corn surplus that's cut prices from eight-dollars-a-bushel in 2012 to about four-dollars now. Farmers will factor in an EPA proposal to reduce the amount of ethanol to be blended into gasoline.
