Lawsuit dismissed for a Rockford man in 1993 murder case

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit by a man who spent 13 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit. Alan Beaman of Rockford was cleared through DNA testing in 2008 of the 1993 strangulation death of his girlfriend, ISU student Jennifer Lockmiller. Beaman had sued prosecutors and police in McLean County where the girl's body was found, claiming officials conspired to wrongfully accuse him. Beaman's attorney says there reviewing a possible appeal.
