Ogle County officials plan to move forward in the construction of a new sheriff administration building. The
1-story building will be located in Oregon next to the current facility if constructed.
The new sheriff's administration building is expected to cost more than 4 million dollars. The sheriff's department will have offices in the facility along the the coroner.
The current building in Oregon would be demolished and the area used for parking if the new complex is constructed.
The vote last night was to go out for bids on the project.
The board also approved the county vehicle revolving purchase fund. Ogle County currently has over 110 vehicles used by the various departments.
Following an executive session, the county plans to purchase the house next the the judicial center in Oregon for a price tag of $99,500. At the present time, they plan to lease the house to the local attorney who currently uses the facility.
The board took no action on the 3 percent pay increase proposal for County Engineer Curtis Cook and the plan for 3-year dog rabies tags. Both were sent back to committees.
