City officials in Rochelle heard an update report last night on the financial status for the city along with the tax levy ordinance.
October was the 6th month of the fiscal year for the city.
A public hearing will be held in December dealing with the tax levy. The figure will not be any higher than just under 8 percent compared to 2012.
The council approved a new blower for the wastewater treatment plant. The city has received a grant of $54,000 for the project. The new blower is expected to reduce the electrical bill for the treatment plant.
The total cost will be between 100 to 150 thousand dollars.
The city will also be involved with a debt recovery program with the state's Comptroller's office. The state would collect unpaid debt for the city such as parking tickets, traffic fines, along with utility bills and ordinance fines. There is no cost for the city involving this program.
Absent from last night's meeting was city official Kathy Hollonbeck.
