Officials in Rochelle will meet in regular session tonight as much of the discussion will deal with the financial picture for the city. The council meeting begins at 7.
The agenda includes the midyear financial report, the tax levy for the 2013-14 fiscal year, and a debt recovery program with the state's Comptroller's office.
The tax levy increase will not be any higher than just under 8 percent.
The city has also receive a grant of $54,000 to install a new blower at the wastewater treatment plant. The total cost of the project will be between 100 to 150,000 dollars.
The new blower is expected to reduce the electrical bill for the treatment plant.
