The Rochelle Elementary board met special session yesterday as the discussion centered around improvements at their schools.
The district plans to apply for a state school maintenance grant involving electrical work at all of the buildings along with a plumbing project at Tilton School. The grant would total $50,000. The district would also have to match that figure if they receive the money from the state.
The district also plans to apply for a grant that totals up to $250,000 for a geothermal energy system at Central School. Health Life Safety bonds may also be used to pay for the project.
Superintendent Todd Prusator said that a geothermal system at Tilton School will come at a later date for the district.
