Bicycle Roundup
Saturday, May 5 2012 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
The Rochelle Community Conservation/Recycling Committee will be collecting unused bicycles from residents. The bicycles will be checked out and repaired as needed so they can be distributed to new owners in early June. Three area citizens have volunteered to repair the bicycles and the City of Rochelle is providing seed money for bicycle repair parts. The “bicycle roundup” will be held on Friday, May 4 from 2:30 – 5:00 p.m. and Saturday May 5 from 9:00 – 12:00 p.m. The roundup will be help at the east end of Memorial Park. Volunteers are needed for each day of collection. Residents that cannot deliver bicycles to the site may make arrangements for a bicycle pickup by calling 562-5769 and leaving a phone number to arrange for a pickup. In June, the bicycles will be redistributed for a nominal fee. Grade school students will pay $5.00, High School students $10.00, and adults $15.00. The bike sales will allow the committee to pay for parts for future bicycle roundups.
