Tuesday, October 16 2012 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Thursday, November 15th
No matter your net worth or age, it is important to have a basic estate plan in place or to update the one you have. The time to do any or all of these things is now. Your “estate” is simply all the property that you own, while a “plan” consists of the methods and documents
you have chosen to handle the matters that concern you.
Topics covered will be:
- Components of estate planning
- Preparing an estate plan
- Implications of decisions that you may make
- Where you can go for help or to find resources
Estate planning ensures a smooth transition between owners. Join University of Illinois Extension educator, Ellen Phillips as she discusses how to get prepared and estate attorneys Mark Berardi and Susan Rogers of Gardiner Koch Weisberg & Wrona Associates as they share basic concepts, the law as it pertains to estates, and taxes that may arise from estate assessments.
