According to new Nielsen figures, radio still rules…even with teens. The average adult spends 122 minutes with radio each day with a reach of over 79%. CDs and tapes garner only 72 minutes with half that audience. In the third tier are portable audio sources like iPods and streaming with 65 minutes and a reach of only 10.4%. Bringing up the rear is mobile phone audio with less than 2% reach. The study says younger demos mix radio with other sources, but still point to radio as their source for new music.
